Banana Diet Day 1- A new diet

Monday, August 30th, 2010

I started a new challenge today.  I friend and I have decided to begin and epic battle for bragging rights.  Each competition is worth 1 point and the race is to get to 100 points.  I theory, we could go through a gruelling 199 competitions to find a winner, but I do not see that happening.  I should crush him long before that.

Our first challenge is see who can go the longest only eating bananas.  We granted each other a couple exceptions.

1. He wanted coffee, so I got mountain dew.  His coffee does have cream in it, so I think I should have pushed that and gotten more concessions, but the die is now cast and we cannot rewind.

2. He wanted 4 ounces a day of some cult juice, so I got 2 peanut butter crakers per day.

Oh, I wish I had savored those peanut butter crackers longer.   As of 12:45, I have consumed, 4 bananas, 2 mountain dews, and 2 crackers.  I am not looking forward to another banana.

I have resorted to sending him a picture of a tasty meal at breakfast and lunch, and I will again at supper to tease his pallet.  I fear it is working against me as I search for the photos.  I caught a glimpse of a 5 guys burger.  Just typing that made my stomach growl.  There  may be no more updates in this category.  I may not last the day.  This is far worse than the $1 a day diet, and worse than the ‘who can eat only carrots the longest’ competition.

$1 Diet Day 18 Supper

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Tonight I fell off the spaghetti wagon and indulged in a large plate of spaghetti.  Since I skipped breakfast today, I treated myself to an extra ounce.

Totals-

  • $1.01 available
  • -$0.25 for 5 ounces of spaghetti
  • -$0.05 for .5 ounces of butter
  • __________________________
  • $0.76 available for tomorrow

I made an important decision today regarding the diet.  Starting tomorrow, I will no longer charge myself for free food I acquire.  There are just too many options, and too much boredom to keep fighting against the inevitable.  So from now on, I will freely graze at supermarket sample counters.  I will accept food from anyone offering.  I will forage through dumpsters of there is an eclair ‘hovering’ over the top.  I will steal from coworkers when they are not looking.  I will eat roadkill if it looks fresh.  Basically, anything that is free, I will eat for free.

$1 Diet Day 7 Supper

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

I came into this meal with $0.32 available, and I was torn between four different options:

  1. eat cornpone again, and go into tomorrow $0.02 in the hole again.
  2. eat my $0.25 spaghetti meal and get $0.07 ahead for tomorrow.
  3. eat extra spaghetti to get extra full
  4. find something totally different to eat.

In the end, I opted for option 3.  I wanted to see how much of a difference it made.  I was quite full from it.  However, it did not help the rapid approach of  the point when I can no longer tolerate the spaghetti diet.  I increased the spaghetti, but not the butter so I would stay under budget which made for very bland spaghetti.

For supper-

5 ounces of spaghetti $0.25

.5 ounces of  butter $0.05

That is all for today, I go into tomorrow with an extra $0.02 to spend.  I am rich hehe.

oops, almost forgot the pic
